Heartprint is an Australian founded not for profit organisation committed to improving living standards of underprivileged families in Cambodia. Heartprint takes a holistic approach to charity by building the Heartprint Community Centre. They are able to provide the support that looks at the whole family structure, not just the basic living needs, but also addressing their overall physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
This year, DAA is celebrating 15 years of saving lives by rebuilding communities after major disasters and delivering Safe Water for Every Child installations.
Our conference on the 11 of October coincides with the annual commemoration of United Nations International Day of the Girl.
The theme of International Day of the Girl 2025 is:
"The Girl I Am, the Change I Lead: Girls on the Frontline of Crisis".
This theme was developed in consultation with girls' organisations, UN partners, and girls themselves.
This theme emphasise the leadership potential of girls and their role in driving positive change, particularly in the face of crisis.
The International Day of the Girl, observed annually on 11th October, aims to highlight the challenges girls face globally, and promote their rights and empowerment.
The 2025 theme specifically acknowledges the unique experiences and contributions of girls during times of crisis, recognising them as agents of change.
This fundraiser will be led by Girls, who deeply understand the importance of delivering Safe Water for Every Child.
Water is LIFE. It is a basic human right that over 2.1 billion people have no safe access to globally. That means 1 in 4 people in our world cannot tap in to the source of life. We want to change that - and we need your help.
Our team is raising money for life-changing safe water installations to commemorate International Day of the Girl.
A study from UNICEF found that over 500 million girls worldwide do not have access to adequate menstrual hygiene facilities. This forces many girls to either miss school during their menstrual cycle or, worse, drop out entirely.
When we think of education, we often overlook the importance of a clean, private space where a girl can manage her menstrual health with dignity and continue her studies without embarrassment or fear.
Some of the money raised will also fund the technical education of girls as water installers and water managers.
WHY?
...because a WorldBank report stated that around the world, girls and women are largely responsible for fetching and using water for household purposes - but less than 5% have been formally trained and employed as water engineers and water utility managers. When you educate a girl to provide essential safe water services, you are providing secure and lifelong employment.
Say YES to #SafeWater4Girls!
